Written by Suzan-Lori Parks, the first African American female to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this play tells the story of two African-American brothers, Lincoln and Booth, as they cope with the many challenges surrounding them: work, poverty, gambling, women, racism and their troubled upbringing.
Topdog/Underdog is a dark comedy about brotherly love and family identity, and forces the audience to ponder the ways we are defined by our personal histories. Don Cheadle, Jeffery Wright, and Mos Def performed in the play while it ran on and off Broadway.
