Contemporary art has the capacity to be contentious and perplexing, yet it can be the source of transformative experiences that can inform us about what we don’t know, and disrupt what we do. The discussion will review the ten most innovative ways that contemporary art challenges us to think and act in new ways. This session of WITY Cocktails will be presented by Graeme Sullivan, Chair of the Department of Arts and Humanities, Teachers College, Columbia University. Graeme will discuss issues and ideas drawn from his book, Art Practice as Research: Inquiry in the Visual Arts (2005), and current exhibitions on show at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver.
