Toni Morrison is one of the world's great writers. She won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993 and her eight major novels, including 'The Bluest Eye,' 'Song of Solomon,' 'Beloved' and 'Love,' have all received extensive critical acclaim while also achieving widespread commercial success. A professor at Princeton University since 1989, Toni Morrison has been described by Newsweek as "the last classic American writer, squarely in the tradition of Poe, Melville, Twain and Faulkner."
