The joy and innocence of the night before Christmas in a remote Irish parish is recreated - when neighbors gather around the fire on a long wintry night with joyous music, stories, and dance. Long, long before Riverdance, ordinary Irish men and women in hobnailed boots knocked sparks off the flagstone floors with jigs, reels and hornpipes, and the rafters rang with the music of the fiddle, bodhran, tin whistle, and uilleann pipes.
