Tomás and the Library Lady – Jan. 25 – Feb. 10, 2013
Fri. at 7pm; Sat. at 2 & 7pm; Sun. at 2pm.
To find work in the fields, Tomás and his family travel from Texas to Iowa, where the only home that awaits them is a shack. And on top of that, Tomás can’t stop dreaming about his nightmarish teacher who demands he speak English. But his life is changed when he meets a library lady who opens up a wonderful new world of books. Learn how a scared little boy became the celebrated Chicano poet, author, and educator Tomás Rivera. Best for ages 5 and older.
