Tom Hayden discusses and signs Writings for a Democratic Society September 8, 2008

Tom Hayden has been an outspoken advocate for civil rights, social justice, environmental protection and peace. As a writer he has documented and explored the social injustices of America. Writings for a Democratic Society is a collection of his essential political, personal, and cultural writings spanning his fifty years of active political life. In it, you can witness Hayden move from observer to one who takes action, as first suggested to him by Martin Luther King, Jr. He will also be speaking on Voices of the Chicago Eight: A Generation on Trial.
