Join us as renowned author, Tom Clavin, talks about his newly-released book, Last Men Out: The True Story of America’s Heroic Final Hours in Vietnam. In April 1975, America’s involvement with Vietnam was coming to a close as the North Vietnamese army descended on Saigon. Last Men Out tells a pulse-pounding account of that day in 1975 when a small band of U.S. Marines and a vast fleet of helicopter pilots executed a large-scale evacuation from Saigon. As the evacuation ended, a handful of U.S. Marines were left behind.
Based on a wealth of recently declassified documents and in-depth, firsthand accounts, Clavin presents this tale of heroism where these eleven men, who were the last to be flown off the U.S. Embassy roof, were rescued from certain death just moments before capture.
Author Tom Clavin brings this story to life in Last Men Out, a tale of courage amid the chaos that was Vietnam.
