Minneapolis native Toki Wright bring his awareness of our diverse world into his socially conscious music. In addition to being a musician, he has worked with non-profit youth organizations in Minneapolis and with war-affected children in Uganda. His music, which goes hand-in-hand with his work around the world to bring social issues to the forefront, has been described as having "insightful lyrics balanced by smooth, flowing beats." He has traveled across the United States and Canada with Brother Ali including stops at CMJ, Soundset and SXSW. He has won numerous awards including; 2007 Twin Cities "Best Knowledge Spitta," and 2006 KMOJ Radio Artist of the Year. Wright just released his debut solo album, 'A Different Mirror,' on Rhymesayers Entertainment.
