RundgrenRadio.com presents Todd Rundgren in Lincolnshire, IL this April as part of the "Todd Rundgren's Johnson" tour. The show will be held April 16th at the Cubby Bear North. Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster.com beginning Wednesday, March 24th.
Todd Rundgren's new album "Todd Rundgren's Johnson" features his interpretations of 12 songs originally written and recorded by Delta blues guitar legend Robert Johnson who shaped the course of blues and rock. Johnson's songs, vocal phrasing and guitar style have influenced a broad range of musicians; Eric Clapton has called Johnson "the most important blues singer that ever lived". Johnson was among the first musicians to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "early influence" category in 1986. He was ranked fifth in Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
Drawing heavily from his forthcoming album the show will consist of a combination of those songs and guitar hero Todd staples. In addition to Rundgren, the band lineup for this performance includes Kasim Sulton (a member of Todd's band Utopia), Jesse Gress (of the Tony Levin Band), and Prairie Prince (a founding member of art-rock band The Tubes).
