One of the main definitions of Yoga is simply meditation, and throughout its long history, one of the primary focuses of the practice of yoga has been changing the quality of the mind so that it is more attentive for longer periods of time. This increased ability to concentrate, to consciously link with a chosen topic and maintain that link, is meditation and it is yoga. When we use mediation to facilitate and deepen a link to a concept or object, this is also yoga. In this seminar, TKV Desikachar will explore the topic of yoga and meditation through lecture and practice.
TKV Desikachar is a world renowned yoga teacher and son of the legendary T. Krishnamacharya, who is known for revolutionizing the modern practice of yoga. Mr. Desikachar brings a contemporary eye to the ancient system of holistic healing, while at the same time honoring the heart of yoga's timeless teachings.
