Tish Hinojosa has explored the theme of Mexican-American identity as deeply as one could, and in the process has made surpassingly beautiful music. Born in San Antonio and based in Austin, Hinojosa is a singer and songwriter who performs in English and Spanish, and sometimes in both within the same line of the same song. Her collection of songs ranges from country to tejano to ambitious alternative productions exploring her own history and the lives of her family and the people around her.
