Elizabeth Rex, the most successful play of the late, award-winning Canadian author Timothy Findley, will have its off-Broadway premiere this summer. Claire Epstein of New Theater Corp observes that the play `self-consciously explores themes of power, gender, identity, and the inevitability of loss.` Findley`s play did not premiere until 2000 (at the Stratford Festival of Canada, to rave reviews), even though it had received a prestigious Governor General`s Literary Award in 1996.
