Folk rock with a splash of blues, Canadian band Timber Timbre (on the esteemed Arts and Crafts label) is fronted by singer-songwriter Taylor Kirk. Described by Eye Weekly as music that's constructed by "eerie, after-dark soundscapes," and "an aesthetic rooted in swampy, ragged blues," Timber Timbre's sound is like nothing you've heard before. The eponymous 2009 album "was named to the Polaris Music Prize Longlist, and the success has since brought Kirk much opportunity, with a jam-packed spring touring schedule and a gig at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas.
