The IAHC Art Gallery presents 'The Old Neighborhood,' showcasing paintings of Chicago area artist Tim McCarthy. McCarthy is well-known for his commemorative paintings of schools, churches and buildings that are reproduced as lithographs. His works hang in collections across the country and he has been featured in a number of shows in the area. In 2005, he was commissioned to paint the IAHC building and the prints were given to IAHC members at an event. The exhibit features artwork that showcases churches and schools in the Chicago area, including Leo High School, St. Rita High School, St. Sabina church, St. Mary of the Angels church, Holy Name Cathedral and Old St. Patrick's Church. He has also painted buildings and churches in Ireland and some of those paintings and prints will be on display. McCarthy is a Chicago firefighter who lives in West Beverly.
