Take a trip through the life and songs of the celebrated jazz crooner with this dazzling musical biography, Freeway: The Chet Baker Journey performed by Tim Draxl at Riverside Theatres for one performance only on Saturday, 27 April, 7:30pm.

Chet Baker’s movie-star looks and honeyed vocals won him pop stardom, and his effortless trumpet style earned the respect of the jazz elite. However, it was his well-known struggle with drugs that brought it all crashing down.

International cabaret award winner, Tim Draxl, finds a living interpretation of a singularly complex figure, illuminating Baker’s life of tormented stardom to expose the haunting mood and delicate nuance of his finest work.

Backed by a hand-picked live band, Draxl channels the Prince of Cool through renditions of his best-loved songs, including My Funny Valentine, Let’s Get Lost, These Foolish Things, Look for the Silver Lining, There Will Never Be Another You and You Don’t Know What Love Is.
