The band "Rising Tribe" plays Island Alternative- a funky mix of original rock and reggae/ ska, with Caribbean influences. .. The band's founder and lead singer Tiffany Gassett has been playing and writing music for more than a decade, beginning in the Virgin Islands, where she was raised. She formed the Tribe in 2007 in Massachusetts with rock drummer Joe Willis. Their debut album, "Back to the Water," was released in the winter of 2008. Lindsey Nogueira joined the group . They have played in and around Boston for past 3 years. Rising Tribe has had the privilege of opening for bands like Jefferson Starship and The Hothouse Flowers and has recently begun playing festivals in New England and beyond. The band is set to release its second album, "Live Up" in the spring of 2011.
