Terry Hudgens is the president and CEO of PPM Energy, an industry pioneer in the construction of effective markets for green energy, particularly wind. Environmentally powered energy sources are unique, because their "fuel" is free -- but intermittent and more significantly, to one degree or another unpredictably intermittent. Yet there is increasing demand for power from these sources. Constructing methods to bundle these sources -- to "firm" and "shape" them in the words of the industry -- is a science by itself, and understanding how these instruments work is key to understanding how green energy fits in worldwide power demand.
Ravi Sinha, CEO and chairman of Choice Solar Corp, is an entrepreneur focused on building turnkey solar plants in India and elsewhere in the third world. He is not a technology developer, but rather a technology integrator and supplier to end user generators. He has discovered in his work why Terry's business is so critical -- building these installations requires financing them; financing them requires power purchase agreements, which requires thorough understanding of the downstream markets for the electrons Ravi generates.
Together they will give us a particularly interesting insight into two critical developments as the world learns to serve the 6 Billion.
