Giancarlo Guerrero, conductor
Tianwa Yang, violin
Mozart - Symphony No. 31 "Paris"
Lalo - Symphonie espagnole
Stravinsky - Petrouchka (1947 version)
She’s back! Violinist Tianwa Yang absolutely wowed audiences the last time she appeared with Nashville Symphony. Only in her mid-20s, she has already earned a reputation as a master of the violin repertoire, and she returns to perform French composer Edouard Lalo’s lively Symphonie espagnole. Igor Stravinsky originally composed Petrouchka as the score for a ballet about a puppet who comes magically to life — and just like his other most celebrated works, this piece is a concert hall favorite.
Presented by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League, our free Classical Conversations take place in the Schermerhorn’s Balcony Lobby one hour before all SunTrust Classical Series concerts. Learn more about the music, and engage in a lively conversation with our conductors, guest artists and musicians!
