April 28 Past Landscapes, Present Tense: The Evolution of the Southern California Landscape with Rhett Beavers. Remnant local landscapes from the 19th century onward are increasingly endangered by redevelopment, oblivion or just plain old age. Learn what remains from earlier times and how past landscapes impact the present. Rhett is a landscape architect and historian interested in settlement patterns and the ways the landscape changes over time to meet new requirements and uses.
