A year in the life of a prosperous St. Louis family circa 1903 is portrayed in this wonderful film widely considered to be one of the best American musicals of all time. Judy Garland is splendid as Esther, one of the four Smith sisters who are apprehensive at the thought of moving away from St. Louis when their father is offered a better job in New York City. The Academy Award winning soundtrack includes such standards as The Trolley Song and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." "Meet Me in St. Louis" was by directed Vincente Minnelli, and costars Margaret OBrien, Mary Astor, Leon Ames and Marjorie Main.
