Thursday, March 29 at APT, Cooperative Sleaze proudly welcomes Chris Duckenfield of SWAG for an NYC exclusive DJ set. Chris's career in dance music stretches back to the late 80s, when he worked for Warp Records & DJ'd pirate radio shows and raves around his hometown of Sheffield in the UK. He met Richard Brown in those days and the two formed the legendary duo Swag - their original productions have been released on labels including Junior Boys Own, Tyrant & Battle, as well as their own stellar imprints Version & Odori. Their catchy & off kilter sound's unique appeal has led to countless remixes on outstanding and diverse labels like Harthouse, Freerange, Glasgow Underground, Dessous & Soma to name a few. These days Chris is busy running these labels as well as his solo project Duckbeats, which is both a new alias for original material & remixes, and a high quality label. He keeps up a busy DJ schedule too, with dates at standout venues across the world, like Fabric in London, Back to Basics in Leeds, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Cocoon in Frankfurt, and the Chinese Laundry in Sydney. We're pleased to welcome him back to NYC alongside local favorite Stadenco (Housewerk), and Coop Sleaze residents Justin R & Peter Anthony.
We have some exciting sponsorship for the night as well: XLR8R is sponsoring the night and we'll be giving the magazine out for free all evening. Krait Beer will be hosting an open bar from 9-10 as well.
A portion of this event will also be livecast over www.90hz.org for our friends worldwide who cannot attend.
