In the first week of May, The Rescue Ships (Sydney), Scott Spark (Brisbane) and Tash Parker (Melbourne) will ricochet between their home cities for the Three's Company tour. The idea's simple - three acts from three states play three shows, three nights in a row, with each artist headlining in their own city. The tour will find these young songwriters performing alongside each other for the first time.
The Rescue Ships are relatively new, combining the talents of Elana Stone and Brian Campeau. They've several stunning solo albums between them, but are now working on new songs and sounds together - this tour's a homecoming of sorts, joining Tash and Scott after a string of shows internationally.
Unearthed by triple j early last year, Scott Spark released his debut album Fail Like You Mean It in September and toured countrywide with Washington, ending 2010 with two special Christmas shows with Tim Rogers. Aside from writing plenty of new material for his sophomore album, Scott's also co-writing the anti-musical OMFG, set for stage in 2012. His sound is some kind of threesome between Randy Newman, Fiona Apple and ELO. Check out the video clip for the album's title track, which was Rage Indie Clip Of The Week.
Tash Parker kicked around Kununurra, far northern Western Australia, before moving to Melbourne, where she made her debut album Waking Up with J.Walker. Tash has been winning hearts since her album's release last year, supporting artists including Gotye, Missy Higgins and Clare Bowditch.
