Miller Outdoor Theatre presents three nights of movie musicals. Bring the family or a date; sit on the hill or in the covered seating area (first come, first-served.) Either way, it's free.
Aug. 18, 8 p.m. "My Fair Lady"
In this classic movie, loveable Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn) is rescued from the gutter and transformed into a genteel young woman by Professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison), who bet a colleague that he could turn any guttersnipe into a lady.
Aug. 19, 8 p.m. "The Music Man"
Confidence man Harold Hill arrives in staid River City intending to scam the community with his usual scam of offering to equip and train a boy's marching band—even though he has no musical skill—then skip town with the money. Things go awry when he falls for a librarian he tries to divert from exposing him while he inadvertently enriches the town with a love of music.
Aug. 20, 8 p.m. Sing-a-long "Mamma Mia!"
Sing along to this ABBA-inspired movie. Longing to discover the identity of her true father before she exchanges her wedding vows, the daughter of a once-rebellious single mother secretly invites a trio of paternal candidates to her upcoming wedding in this feature adaptation of the beloved stage musical. The film starts Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep.
