Three Dimensions in Art - Moods. The present suite of paintings being exhibited is titled 'Moods'. The mood is one of bliss, a moment of inner consciousness captured through the places and people depicted. In this case the protagonists, although lthey ook like celestial characters, are very much earthy. They are real, an epitome of love and passion, but not erotic; treated as an active, powerful aspect of male and female moods and existence. The binding factor between the couple is the flute, which is a traditional symbol of ethereal love, coming from our Puranas and other scriptures. About these figures in his paintings, the artist Om Swami says, "A man and a woman are incomplete in themselves, they are the fragments of a single whole and they become close and healthy only in close togetherness in union with each other and when this happens unconditionally, only then the two are complete. This union may be earthy, physical or spiritual."
