This April Fools the biggest Gag is at the House of Blues; Banned in Boston returns to raise funds for violence prevention April 1, 2011

No Joke, Boston’s best known personalities will take the stage and make complete fools of themselves at Banned in Boston, for the nationally acclaimed violence prevention program, Urban Improv. The 2011 line-up for the one-night-only musical comedy revue includes local celebrities, media personalities, politicians, and business and community leaders who will rally together to put on an impromptu show of hilarity, musical satire, and skits.

Legendary for their antics, the 2011 Banned in Boston cast will include favorites like Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton; Pulitzer Prize Winning Author and Presidential Historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin; Governor and Mrs. Deval Patrick; Attorney General Martha Coakley; Boston Mayor Tom Menino; the better half of President and CEO of the Boston Red Sox, Stacey Lucchino; WGBH Greater Boston host Emily Rooney; WCVB anchor, Liz Brunner; former Congressman, Amo Houghton; “Car Talk” guys, Tom and Ray Magliozzi; WBUR journalist, Monica Brady-Meyerov; Broadway star Nancy Anderson and many more! Urban Improv uses interactive, improvisational theater to help youth in Boston and beyond confront the violence, racism, bullying, fear, and drugs that can be a part of their everyday reality.

Banned in Boston will take place on Friday, April 1. A pre-show soiree will kick-off at the Lansdowne Pub at 6 p.m., after which guests will saunter next door to the House of Blues for the laugh-out-loud musical revue. Tickets are $200 each, or $100 for those under the age of 40.
