"They Don't Want To Hear Hattie Sing!"

This show's central character is Hattie McDaniel, the first African American to win an Academy Award for the movie "Gone With the Wind".

Not a birth to death biographical play, "They Don't Want to Hear Hattie Sing!" is an Historical Fantasy taking place on the first day of filming of "Gone With the Wind" as Hattie struggles with always having to play a stereotypical "Mammy" in all of her movies. Her world is then suddenly turned upside down when she is transported 70 years forward "Black to the future" and encounters modern day African American stereotypes in media.

Written and Directed by Vincent Victoria, this musical promises to touch you ,entertain you, and provoke you to think.
