Free Mercury Fever Thermometer Exchange!
Bring your glass mercury fever thermometer to Campbell Community Center between 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and exchange it for a digital thermometer. Limit one free digital thermometer per household. Mercury is toxic and can cause damage to the nervous system, brain, kidneys, liver and immune systems in humans and animals. For the exchange, please double bag your mercury thermometers using two sealed plastic bags to prevent spills. This event is sponsored by the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant, the cities of Campbell, and the Bay Area Pollution Prevention Group. Come learn to recycle properly, and help reduce plastic pollution.
