Theatre at the Center, recognized for bringing exciting, fun and educational productions and opportunities, announces a special musical theater workshop geared towards children ages 7 and up. From start to finish, children will learn all aspects of putting on a musical, from auditioning to designing to performing. Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana will close the workshop with a special musical performance, KIDS ARE KIDS; THE WHOLE WORLD ROUND, featuring the hard work of all of the students. Space is filling up quickly so early registration is highly recommended.
The workshop will run from July 25 through August 5, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. KIDS ARE KIDS; THE WHOLE WORLD ROUND will be performed on August 6 on the Theatre at the Center Stage. The performance will be a fun and educational musical, featuring songs that include Hello, Everybody Once a Kid and The Sun’s Gonna Shine!
Through acting, singing and choreography, students will learn to use their bodies and voices to develop a strong characterization. The workshop will teach students the element of theatrical design and they will create and build costume and set pieces.
Founded in 1991, Theatre at the Center is a year-round professional, equity theater at its home, The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana. Theatre at the Center is conveniently located off I-80/94, just 35 minutes from downtown Chicago.
