Described by Roger Tory Peterson as the "butterflies of the bird world", the colorful group of songbirds known as the wood warblers return to Massachusetts each spring from wintering habitats as far away as South America. Warblers are not only beautiful, they also play an important ecological role in the woodlands they inhabit and have been instrumental in expanding our understanding of ecological niches. Join us for a lecture and photography presentation as we introduce (or re-introduce) ourselves to these amazing birds. - - Brooks Mathewson is a nature photographer and ecologist.
