A documentary film about China, the country with the largest population in the world, whose phenomenal economic growth is attracting interest from all over the world. Close to 800 million Chinese live in rural areas and although their living conditions have improved, they still live in a state of backwardness that contrasts sharply with the urban development of the coastal regions. THE WISE CAT CATCHES MICE is a trip into rural China that shows – through the stories of peasant men and women – the dark shadows of the Country of the new economical miracle.
Followed by a Q&A with directors Nene Grignaffini & Francesco Conversano.
