The Winter Solstice celebrates hope and rebirth by signaling the reversal of the Sun's ebbing presence in the sky. Many cultures honor the solstice through traditional songs and stories that draw their imagery from nature. Storyteller Diane Edgecomb and musicians Margot Chamberlain and Tom Megan will perform a host of legends and songs to illuminate this ancient celebration. The event includes folk material from Greece, Scandinavia, England, Native America and the Jewish tradition as well as a drink from a traditional Wassail Bowle to warm up the intermission. It's appropriate for ages 12 and above.
