The Bombay Natural History Society and Rotary Club of Bombay Seacoast are holding a Rare Book exhibition : Jewels of India - The VIIth Rare Books Exhibition.
Exhibition is a part of the society's 125th year celebration. It is a unique opportunity to see the rarest and finest books published in the last 200 years containing lithographs, paintings and old maps from the century old collection of the BNHS Library. The highlights of the exhibition are Jonh Gould's The Birds of Asia, Oriental Memoirs by James Forbes (1913), Memories of a Map of Hindoostan, published in 1798 and Indian Serpents by Patrick Russell, published in 1801. Most of the books were donated by Mr. Evans Fraser in 1925.
