Come join us on Friday, June 18th for an exclusive screening of "The Very Worst Thing" at the Jackson City Schools’ J.B. Goff Gymnasium in Jackson, KY at 7:30pm.
"The Very Worst Thing" is a documentary film which revisits the 1958 Floyd County bus tragedy, which claimed 27 lives in eastern Kentucky on February 28, 1958. To this day, it remains the worst school bus accident in U.S. history.
The film features several interviews with those who were personally touched by the tragedy, including survivor Martha Burchett (Marsh) and Winston Dillon, who were on the bus during the accident. The film also features original pictures from the scene of the tragedy, most of which have been unseen by the general public.
It’s the story about families, as well as an entire community, finding strength during the most devastating of circumstances.
The documentary is from Remix Films, which consists of filmmakers Michael Crisp and Andrew Moore. It is slated to appear nationally at film festivals beginning in the spring of 2010. Visit www.theveryworstthing.com for more information about the film.
Tickets are $8 and may be purchased by calling Timothy Spencer at 606/666-4979 or by contacting him at timothy.spencer@jacksonind.kyschools.us. Tickets are also available at the Breathitt County Museum. A select block of tickets may also be purchased online at www.theveryworstthing.com.
