Dr. Boniface Hardin, President Emeritus, Martin University, is back in Pendleton by popular demand! He will be offering a program on the Underground Railroad in Indiana at the Pendleton Community Public Library on Saturday, April 11th at 10:00 a.m.
The Underground Railroad was a loose network of diverse Hoosiers bound together by conscience and determined to abolish the institution of slavery. They risked fines and imprisonment in their devotion to the cause of freedom; “passengers” risked their lives.
The public is invited to join Dr. Hardin as he traces the journey to freedom through Indiana, and possibly right through Pendleton. The program is free. RSVPs are appreciated. Call the library at (765) 778-7527 or email ashannon@pendleton.lib.in.us if you are planning to attend.
