The Tragically Hip are bolstering their well-earned reputation for rousing live shows on their current U.S. tour. For their headlining dates, The Hip are staging roaring performances that floor critics: Jeff Spevak of the Rochester Democrat declared that "A rock band ripping on all cylinders…is an awesome sight. It's like feeling the engines at Daytona… It's visceral. That was the Tragically Hip on Thursday night" while the Buffalo News hailed their "brilliantly compelling show. The Tragically Hip remains one of the strongest modern rock bands going." Producer Adam Weissler of Extra (NBC) saw their LA performance and concluded that "they have never been more exciting or energetic on stage, and the new music rivals or surpasses anything the band has ever done." Finally, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer smartly summed up their Seattle show as "a spellbinding, energetic and triumphant display of prowess, expertise and most certainly, an absolute love of rock 'n' roll."
The band is touring in support of their superb new album 'World Container,' widely considered one of the best works of their career. Esqure's Andy Langer noted in his weekly Podcast that "their new record World Container couldn't sound any bigger. Produced by Metallica/Motley Crüe guru Bob Rock, it's a huge record sonically. It also happens to include some of the band's most punishing tunes ever; rockers that demand full volume."
