Venture back to a simpler time this weekend during the first annual School of The Lady with tours and events, sponsored by the Victorian Lady. Please Join us as we create the atmosphere of a by gone time when ladies wore the most romantic fashion in history. League City’s best kept secret is how much history is located just out our front door.

League City Historic District Merchants Association. Learn the social practices and customs of the period. We will have ladies that will be teaching you how to make underpinnings out of pillow cases and bed ruffles, how to make beautiful ribbon trim and roses, there will be demonstration on riding habits, the customs of mourning, the language of the fan, a Victorian dance class and much more. This is a unique experience for ladies and you will feel as though you are in the late 19th century.
Event organizer J’Nean Henderson of The Victorian Lady hopes the multi-day event not only draws people from around the area, but also visitors from all around the state. “I have gone to these schools all over Texas and always enjoyed learning about the Victorian Era, it was a fascinating period. There will be some costumes for ladies that don't have one.”

The events for the weekend include tours, classes, shopping. A full weekend of fun & education. We will be furnishings the ribbon kits, Friday night dinner and a movie at the museum, box lunch Saturday and Things By Hands Sutlery for the ladies shopping. This is the first time this event will be open to the public space is limited. The School will be held at the beautiful Butler Longhorn Museum, 1220 Coryell St., League City, Texas77573, October 15,16,and 17,2010.Friday 5 pm to Sunday 12 noon.
