When John and Nettie Cleary welcome their son home after World War II, theyre eager to resume the old roles and routines-and the old battles and silences. But an innocent bouquet of roses and a well-meaning lie send their small world reeling. Past mistakes and misunderstandings catch up with them at last and force all three to face the truth: there are some hurts that can be healed-and some that cant. We conduct two post-performance Tuesday Talks for each production. The discussions give audiences the opportunity to participate in intimate talk-backs with artists, cast members, noted scholars and experts within their fields. Location: New York City Center Stage II
