The Subdudes came together in New Orleans back in 1997 for what they thought would be a one-night gig. They enjoyed each other's company so much that they formed the Subdudes. Their rootsy sound is mostly acoustic, with a strong emphasis on songwriting and vocal harmonies. Five albums and roughly a decade later, they split to pursue other avenues in 1996. After a few spinoff projects and a couple reunion gigs, three of the four original members came back together in 2002.
