Straight from the depths of the mystical music playground of New Orleans, comes the truly handcrafted American music of the subdudes. Usually without a drum set, they use their feet, hands, voices and tambourines to display a deep rhythmic knowledge that cannot be explained without witnessing. Drenched in thick blues and dripping with tight jazzy compositions, these funk masters ignore basic song structures and fill each tune with rich organic lyrics, traces of haunting gospel and easy but elaborate vocal harmonies.
FTC welcomes the subdudes back to StageOne for the sixth time, in the same way you gave your best friends a key to your summer home. It's because of passionate musicians like these, who value intimacy and tasteful instrumentation like no others, that StageOne even exists.
The band is touring in support of their new album, Flower Petals, which will be released on August 25th on 429 Records. Opening is Diana Jones
