The topics explored will be the African history of the music, call and response, swing (the forward propulsion of rhythm), gospel music and the blues.From the beginning the audience will participate in rhythmic exercises, call and response situations, the blues. Along the way the music and its history will be presented.This is a workshop meant both for a general audience as well as practicing musicians.
