DJ Le Spam brings his signature brand of funky turntablism with live Latin instrumentation, rare spoken-word recordings and old-school grooves to the always-hungry-for-the-next-big-thing, New York City club community. The Spam Allstars features DJ Le Spam on turntables and samplers, Mercedes Abal on flute, Tomas Diaz on percussion, A.J. Hill on sax, Adam Zimmon on guitar and John Speck on trombone. If Sammie Williams, a.k.a. Big Sam, weren't such a great musician, he could easily be a lineman for the New Orleans Saints, but he prefers the front line of a New Orleans style brass funk band. Leading his band, Big Sam's Funky Nation,' he dazzles with the enormous power of his trombone. His fancy footwork and natural charisma get the crowd going like a touchdown in overtime.
