One of the most popular musicals of all time, The Sound of Music is based on the true story of the Trapp Family Singers. When a young nun proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed Austrian naval captain. This unforgettable musical follows the Von Trapp Family as Austria is invaded by the Nazis and culminates in the family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II.
