Fresh from two-sold premieres at the SF International Asian American film festival, Jeff Adachi?s new film, ?The Slanted Screen,? opens for a one-week run at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco on May 19-25, 2006. The 60-minute film, which explores portrayals of Asian men in American cinema and ethnic stereotyping, recent won the best Short Documentary award at the NY International Independent Film & Video festival.The film presents a critical examination of Hollywood?s image-making machine, through a fascinating parade of 50 film clips spanning a century.
