An annual fixture for enthusiasts, coin collectors and even numismatic newbies, The Singapore Mint’s Lunar Fair will usher in the Lunar New Year in 2013 while various other retail roadshows will be organised till early February next year.
The Bountiful Year of the Snake Lunar Fair will be held at Orchard Central from 5 to 13 January 2013 and promises to be bigger, better and with a wider range of coins, medallions, gifts and collectibles.
Highlights include Singapore’s largest silver coin - the magnificent 1kg 999 Fine Silver Proof-Like Coin – as well as the Fine Gold BU Coin, which at a diameter of just 7.00mm and weight of 0.3gm, also makes it Singapore’s smallest coin.
For ardent coin collectors, the fair will showcase additional foreign lunar coins from Australia, Canada and China to satisfy the growing demand. As a special treat, there will also be a dedicated dealer’s corner for coin trading activities.
Shoppers can also look forward to fun-filled promotional highlights such as the Auspicious ‘Fu’ Bag filled with an assortment of prized treasures, lucky draws and gift redemption counters.
