The second production in Shotgun Players new Cabaret Series, Stitch is a story as small as a photograph and as broad as a moment. Tip-toeing the line between subtlety and spectacle, Stitch combines suspended apparatus, contortion, object manipulation, and stilt acrobatics to reveal the invisible threads that connect us all. Stitch runs for THREE NIGHTS ONLY, May 7 - 9, at The Ashby Stage.
Stitch is an exploration of the connection, potential and dysfunction inherent to human relationship. The show offers an arousing look inside the emotional landscape of two people, broken and isolated, who find redemption in autonomy and interdependence. The Ricochet Project uses lyric physicality, improvisation, and contemporary experimentalism to explore the stitch that we get ourselves into, and the stitch that ultimately sews us together.
Ricochet is the duet project of Cohdi Harrell and Laura Stokes. Weaving delicate metaphor with jaw dropping spectacle, Ricochet is known for their distinct combination of poetic acrobatics and bizarrely charming character work. Their unique flavor of performance comes from rigorous backgrounds of classical and contemporary dance, aerial acrobatics, martial arts, and the commitment to experimentation and improvisation. Since founding their collaboration in 2006 in the high desert of New Mexico, they have relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where they travel regionally and internationally performing and conducting workshops. As one of the few young contemporary circus companies in America creating and producing full-length theatrical work, Ricochet has been received with tremendous enthusiasm from audience and industry alike.
