Character, that's what the seedy Pacific coast dive bar the Sea Horse has, and lots of it. A haven for fishermen, sailors, merchant marines and the disadvantaged, the Sea Horse has seen it all. And so has its owner Gertrude Blum: a strong, no-nonsense, self-willed woman of legendary proportions. In walks Harry: a man with an overactive imagination and an eye toward the future, back from a long sea voyage full of excitement and dreams. Only dreams can be a threat: invasive and alarming to one who has given up on them. Forced to confront the harsh realities of a life of hard work for little in return - in a world where love is fool's play - Gertrude and Harry are in for the voyage of a lifetime.
