Through a variety of hands-on activities students will explore some of properties of sound, including vibrations, pitch and volume and compare the vibrations produced by different notes. Students will discover how length, tension and speed of movement affect the pitch of sound and use an oscilloscope to observe the difference between amplitude (volume) and frequency (pitch). Students will then have the opportunity to make several instruments including a kazoo, a honker, clucking cup, Special FX space sounds. This course is suitable for Kindergarten to Year 2 Students.
