You are invited to come listen to Deputy Commissioner Mark Lambert talk about the mission of the Texas General Land Office as well as their priceless archival map collection. The collection tells the story of Texas lands with more than 10,000 maps dating from as early as the 1820s including some from Peters Colony. Mr. Lambert will also talk about their newest preservation program Save Texas History. The goal of Save Texas History is to not only ensure the protection of the invaluable historic documents contained in the GLO’s collection, but to make them available for Texans now and in the future. Free and open to the public. Free “Yesterday & Today” map of Farmers Branch to lecture guests. Light Refreshments will be served after the lecture.
