Cannon River Festival August 5th
The Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP) will host its fifth annual River Festival at Owatonna from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5th, at Central Park, just off Main Street. Planned this year to highlight the Straight River, the River Festival celebrates the art, histrory, science, culture, and politics of the watershed.
Central Park’s stage will feature live music, a political forum, dance, and entertainment from 10-2.
CRWP and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture are offering free well water nitrate testing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, in the Elks Hall at 126 East Vine Street.
Numerous environment-related organizations will sponsor booths in Central Park from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and the famous Owatonna Farmers’ Market will sell wonderful wares, fresh baked goods, and produce at the same time as the Festival.
Cannon Valley Rotaract, a branch of Rotary International for young professionals and Charles Skinner of F.I.T. Organizations are co-sponsoring a Canoe and Kayak Race from Northfield to benefit CRWP on the same day.
