Jenn Laskey of RedLight Special Events, Kim Koury of SPIN PR, & Lovemade proudly present the fifth installment & kick off of the 2010 Summer Events series of "ERA"an upscale, 1920s 'era'-inspired special event series, now taking place at 1924 historic building's lounge venue, Caña Rum Bar (former space of The Doheny) Back by popular demand, this one-of-a-kind event will feature a live performance, by the Ryan Roberts Group (Vintage Jazz Band) and DJ/ Production duo, the Beat Ventriloquists. Era will continue into the summer with more special events at special historic 20's venues, soon to be announced!

Caña Rum Bar, a "member's only" private bar, is opening its doors for one-night-only to guests of Era and will also offer 1920's inspired specialty cocktail menu handcrafted by Cana mixologists. Guests are encouraged to dress in cocktail and/or 1920's theme attire. Doors open at 9:00pm. Tickets are $20, or $15 with the RSVP code. Admission includes an open bar from 9:00-10:00pm. Following the success of ERA's summer event series last year at the Oviatt Penthouse & Campanile, the creators decided to move the party to a new vintage location / 1920's historic spaces to continue to expose guests to additional landmark 1920's architectural gems around Los Angeles. "ERA was created to revisit the amazing 1920's historic time, mesmerizing guests with sites of architecture and glamorous design, sounds of the vintage and modern live music & DJ, and allows guests to get decked out in vintage 20's attire," says event creator Jenn Laskey who is hugely inspired by Los Angeles original 1920s and 30s architecture. "If you had the pleasure of attending ERA and seeing the glory of the Oviatt Penthouse, you will equally love the mesmerizing sites we will continue to bring you; providing the most exciting parties & thrilling vintage locations.

RedLight & SPIN's original vision for "ERA" was to create a summer special event series/ club alternative in the vibe of an authentic 1920's event; fully embracing the glamour and splendor of the vintage era when these buildings were erected, with mesmerizing 1920's art deco architecture, antique and salvaged furnishings, DJ & amazing live music blending the past with the present, and an artistic and gorgeous crowd urged to dress in cocktail and/or 1920's theme attire. The guests, friends, clients, fans, response was so great & profound; ERA lives on as special event at various immaculate 20s locations!

ABOUT RYAN ROBERTS (Jazz Band)

Era's live music will be curated by Ryan Roberts, a bass player who has worked in a wide range of musical groups. Within past years Ryan has done recording sessions with many artists, and had the honor of working with Brian Garcia who has engineered albums for Avril Lavinge, Kelly Clarkson and King's X. Roberts also had the honor of hosting a regular jazz event in downtown Los Angeles. At ERA, Ryan Roberts & Andy Margolis will perform iconic jazz selections from the great American songbook. They will represent the best American songs of the 20th century principally from Broadway theatre, musical theatre, and Hollywood musicals, from the 1920s. Vintage jazz repertoire by legendary composers such as; Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Cole Porter will create a wonderfully historic atmosphere.
